Brilliant season by the Arsenal. Even though we missed on the title by the slightest of margins, this season has shown that Arsenal are a force to reckon with and are willing to fight till the very end. The players have shown that they are willing to fight for the badge. And the atmosphere around the club is much more positive and upbeat than say even as recently as a season ago. Players like Rice, Raya and Havertz have immediately resonated with us. Right now we have a team of excellent players who are ready to jump to the next level and being called world class and match winners. And I am sure that time will come sooner rather than later.

City’s team are a jaggurnaut and, ignoring the elephant in the room, are one of the most complete teams in world football today. Perhaps they deserved this title, perhaps they deserved all 4, time will tell. But today, congratulations to City on another title win. 4 in a row is no small feat and will be very tough to match especially considering the emergence of various teams and hopefully the more equal distribution of financial resources. Pep has proven time and again that given enough backing, he can build a team that can win any league. There will be a lot of new football fans that will start by supporting City, and I hope, for their sake, all the charges against them are taken care of sooner rather than later, and they get to truly enjoy their team’s performance.

Also, this has been the end of an era of Jurgen Klopp. The silverware hardly justifies how influential he has been for Liverpool, and on any other era, he might have had a lot more to show for it. He built a very strong team, competed and won both the PL and the Champions League, and has been one of the most consistent managers in recent times. I hope he gets a well deserved break, and comes back to football in some capacity later.

We will probably say goodbye to a number of individuals who have helped to build the team that we have today. Starting with Mo Elneny who is the longest serving member of the team, and has seen some very turbulent times. I wish him the best, and hope he is successful in whatever his next plans are.

Silverware is good. But it is the icing on the cake. Sometimes, when the bakery runs out of icing because someone else has a major order of 115 large cakes covered with all the icing available, one should just relish the taste of the plain cake available. Honestly it isn’t that bad, and I am looking forward to more next season.
